Amit Midha is the President of the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region and the Global Digital Cities business for Dell Technologies. Recognized as ‘The most promising business leader in Asia’ in 2016 by The Economic Times, he spearheads Dell Technologies’ efforts in the region to enable customers across APJ in their digital transformation journey. Amit also leads Dell Technologies’ Digital Cities business globally, driving digital city initiatives in public sectors worldwide.
Amit joined Dell in 1995 and has held various leadership positions in sales, marketing, and corporate strategy organizations in the Americas, APJ and Greater China region. He has also served as the chair for Global Emerging Markets business and Global Public Business Council within Dell. Prior to joining Dell, Amit worked for Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company, in Mumbai, India.
Amit serves as the member of the Global Future Council on Cities and Urbanization, that serves as a brain trust for the World Economic Forum and aims to challenge assumptions and introduce fresh ideas to reshape global systems for the benefit of humanity and the planet. He is also the member of the Board of Directors of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, which aims to foster deeper strategic and economic cooperation between both countries. Amit is an active member of Young Presidents’ Organization, the world’s largest network of peers that connects members to exchange ideas, pursue learning, and share strategies to achieve personal growth and professional success.

Passionate about emerging markets, Amit has played a key role in expanding the company's presence in the Greater China area and was honored with the Magnolia Gold Award in 2013 for contribution to the city of Shanghai. In 2010, received both the People's Choice CEO of the Year award as part of CNBC’s China Business Leader Awards and CEO of the year in IT from Bloomberg.
Amit is deeply committed to the cause of youth and women. He sits on the Dell Global Giving Council, Dell Global Diversity Council, and Dell Entrepreneur Executive Council. Serves on the board of “Project Hope Magazine” sponsored by the China Youth Development Foundation to expand the school network in rural China. He leads the efforts in expanding Dell Women Entrepreneur Network (DWEN) in the region for over a decade now, overseeing the global network expanding from 50 to 5,000 today. Amit also is Dell’s global co-sponsor and leader for Conexus Employee Resource Group, focused on building a connected workforce of the future.
Amit holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Missouri, Columbia, US, and graduated with a first-class Honors degree in Engineering from the SGS Institute of Technology & Science, Indore, India.
An avid traveler with a keen interest in adventure, Amit likes to experiment in global cuisines and explore wines from different regions of the world. He is a board member of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, an International Association of Gastronomy, and Knight of Ordine dei Cavalieri del Tartufo e dei Vini di Alba, an organization to preserve, protect or promote food and wine, customs and traditions of Alba and the Langhe region in Italy since 1967. He is also passionate about technology and enjoys dabbling with new gadgets.
Amit resides in Singapore with his wife and two children.
