Ohio Eminent Scholar, L.W. Scott Alter Chair Professor, and Univ. Distinguished Professor, Univ. of Cincinnati; Founding Director, National Science Foundation (NSF) Industry/University Cooperative Research Center on Intelligent Maintenance Systems. Currently, he is leading a new Industrial AI Center. Research focuses on predictive big data analytics and cyber-physical systems for intelligent maintenance, prognostics and health management (PHM), and Industry 4.0 systems. Selected to be one of the 30 Visionaries in Smart Manufacturing in U.S. by SME, Jan. 2016; Co-Founder, Predictronics. Formerly: Director, Product Development and Manufacturing, United Technologies Research Center (UTRC); Director, IUCRCs, ERCs and Materials Processing & Manufacturing programmes, National Science Foundation; Director, Materials Handling Program, USPS; Programme Director, Anorad; Senior Mechanical Engineer, Robotics Vision Systems. Authored/co-authored numerous articles and technical papers for journals including Journal of Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing (MSSP), Journal of CIRP, as well as SME Manufacturing Letters. Has delivered over 250 keynote and plenary speeches at international conferences. Fellow: ASME, SME, PHM Society; Founding Fellow, International Society of Engineering Asset Management (ISEAM).
