Simon Engelke

Simon Engelke is the founder of the battery start-up BatteryDev and Postdoctoral Affiliate of Trinity College, Cambridge. He submitted & defended his PhD on lithium-ion battery electrodes and their characterisation at the University of Cambridge. He received the NanoDTC Translational Prize in 2019, Trinity Bradfield Prize in 2018, STFC Futures Early Career Award in 2017 and the Cambridge University Entrepreneurs (CUE) Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2015. For the WEF he is a member of the Global Shapers Community (for which he participated in Davos 2018), Fellow of the Global Future Council on Energy Technologies and Co-Curator for the Transformation Maps on the Future of Energy & Batteries.
