Genève, Suisse, 10 mars 2021 - Les chercheurs, entrepreneurs, activistes et dirigeants politiques les plus prometteurs au monde, âgés de 30 à 40 ans, rejoignent aujourd'hui la promotion 2021 des jeunes leaders mondiaux du Forum Économique Mondial.

Le Forum des jeunes leaders mondiaux a été fondé en 2005 par Klaus Schwab, fondateur et président exécutif du Forum Économique Mondial, afin de construire un monde où les leaders prennent la responsabilité d'un avenir durable, tout en relevant des défis de plus en plus complexes et interdépendants. Aujourd'hui, l'association compte 1 400 membres et anciens membres de plus de 120 pays. Parmi les membres les plus importants figurent les premiers ministres Jacinda Ardern et Sanna Marin, le président du Costa Rica Carlos Alvarado Quesada, l'actrice Yao Chen, l'avocate Amal Clooney et la cinéaste Wanuri Kahiu.

Les YGL sont actifs dans les domaines les plus passionnants et les plus dynamiques et se concentrent sur l'impact de leurs travaux. Au cours de l'année écoulée, ils ont travaillé sur plus de 30 initiatives liées à la pandémie de COVID-19, notamment en développant l'utilisation de services publics de santé numérique gratuits, en lançant des datas challenges pour construire un écosystème capable d’aider à lutter contre la pandémie, en créant des abris mobiles pour les soins intensifs, en ouvrant des plateformes de soutien en santé mentale et en travaillant sur le développement de vaccins.

La classe de 2021 est composée de représentants de 56 pays. Les membres prendront part à un programme de cinq années, qui propose des cours de formation pour cadres, des expéditions et la possibilité de collaborer et de tester des idées au sein d'un réseau de pairs.

"La promotion 2021 des YGL est composée de leaders réfléchis et courageux qui façonneront une ère post-pandémique plus durable et plus inclusive", a déclaré Mariah Levin, responsable du Forum des jeunes leaders mondiaux.

"Nous sommes ravis d'accueillir la promotion 2021 à un moment où il est plus que jamais nécessaire de cultiver un leadership responsable pour nous guider à travers les multiples défis auxquels le monde est confronté", a déclaré Nicole Schwab, membre du conseil d'administration du Forum des jeunes leaders mondiaux.
