How Global Can Power Local: Harnessing International Investment to Develop Sustainable Local Capital Markets

This White Paper expounds on the work done in the last phase of the Forum project: Accelerating Capital Markets Development in Emerging Economies.

For this project phase, a multistakeholder group of international investors, policy-makers, regulators and local market participants explored the role that international investors can play in the development of sustainable capital markets. The group’s findings are laid out across three topics: strategies to attract international investment, opportunities for international investment to build market sustainability, and a suggested reform roadmap for putting these ideas into practice.

Through its key recommendations and insights, this paper aims to spark ideas and dialogue that furthers progress toward local capital market development.
